"CEZAR"

Cezar’s current work explores the complexities of human nature and the psyche, constructing an abstracted reality through expressive forms and evocative subject matter. His compositions often feature distorted figures rendered in thick, textured layers of paint, creating a strong sense of depth, emotion, and intensity. Working predominantly with an obscure yet thoughtfully balanced colour palette, merging complementary tones to achieve both structure and visual harmony.
With an intention of encouraging the viewer to explore beneath the surface. Utilizing abstraction and distortion, he shapes a world that speaks to both individual experience and universal truths, deeply informed by inner exploration.

"PAST WORKS/EXHIBITIONS"
Cezar, b.1999 is a London-based contemporary artist whose practice reflects a continuous evolution of artistic identity and an in-depth exploration of self. Fascinated from an early age by the immediacy and energy of the graffiti scene, he began developing his own distinct style by the age of 14, using the streets as both canvas and catalyst for creative expression. Graffiti became his first visual language, offering freedom, impact, and a formative foundation for his artistic journey.
As his outlook expanded, Cezar transitioned to painting, discovering a more enduring and layered method to process ideas, emotion, and identity. His current work marks a decisive shift from a pop art-influenced style of vibrant colours and surface-level imagery to a practice defined by nuanced exploration of form, texture, and psychological depth.
Cezar’s contemporary practice investigates the complexities of human nature, the subconscious, and the shifting terrain of the psyche. Using textured layers of paint applied with cloths and brushes, which are then manipulated through sanding and dilution, he creates muted yet meticulously balanced compositions. These works invite viewers to look beyond the surface, revealing the construction, layering, and blueprint underlying each piece.
Cezar has exhibited in China, beginning with his first solo exhibition, THE BEATLESMANIA, at the Contemporary Art Centre in 2021, followed by a second solo presentation in 2022. In 2023, he participated in the group exhibition THE ADVENTURES OF TIN TIN at ART021, and in 2024, he presented his C-ZAR series at Henarch Gallery.
